It is currently a pasture with an area of 3,600 hectares with a high density of century-old oaks, where cereals are grown, fed and bred cattle, sheep and pigs, in addition to hunting activities both Big Game Hunt and Small Game Hunt.
It has a large swamp with a capacity of 500,000 m3, whose dam was built by the Romans in the third century.
In Bercial, it is attempted to maintain a balance of the activities performed as the core principle. Thus, special care is taken in the density of populations of deer, fallow deer, wild boar, partridge, etc., the number of hectares to be planted each year, and the number of cattle grazing in their fences.
As a consequence, an optimal use of it is achieved accompanied by the maximum environmental compatibility.
The Bercial belongs to the municipality of Valencia de las Torres (Badajoz) and is located at Km. 3 EX¬-343 road between the towns of Campillo de Llerena and Hornachos.
